Hey, I appreciate the tutorial and having a great time with this series but it is a little frustrating jumping into VEX during the beginners course.
It doesn’t feel like I’m learning when I don’t know the basics of VEX, and as a result, it ends up as 10 mins of copy-pasting what you’re writing instead of really absorbing new information.
Now that I finished this one I feel like it would have been more worth my time to complete the VEX course first rather than trying to understand so many new concepts.
For Houdini 19.5 –
(6:50 into the video) Use the middle click to get the necessary popup dialog which lets you “Promote Parameter”
(11:50 into the video) The boolean geometry node defaults to the “Subtract” operation, make sure it’s set to “Intersection” to get rid of self intersecting geometry
