Let’s do this by setting up Mantra, Houdini’s built in render engine. Download Project File Liked it? But otherwise very nice, albeit slightly too quick at times. However, I guess that’s why we have a pause button! psykojello 20.01.2020 Reply Great info! Thank you and looking forward to more! jay 20.01.2020 Reply Great series of tutorials. Unfortunately, I’m getting the “mantra: Can’t find geometry” error when I try to render. From what I learned by searching the web, it might be an old bug that occurs when you save your project with spaces in the path. But I am getting the following error: Warning: The following settings are unrecognized by the light handle: focus_handle(0) Did a web search but nothing relevant comes up. Can anyone help with this? Judah 07.02.2020 Reply I get this error as I add the Environment Light. Moritz 07.02.2020 Reply Hm, sounds like a case for a clean install… Which version are you using? If it persists even after a new install, maybe RFE it with SideFX. Cheers, Mo Judah 07.02.2020 Reply Hi Mo, I’m running the latest version of apprentice, 18.0.348. Just installed it last night through the Houdini launcher. Since I haven’t done any configurations I’ll go ahead and uninstall launcher and the app and start fresh. I’m looking forward to more of your tutorials. I’m a Cinema and Blender user and have been wanting to get into Houdini for a while now, inspired in part by your work. 🙂 Judah 08.02.2020 Did a complete uninstall and re-install using the launcher and manually searching and deleting. Tried to find a resource online that lists all the files to delete but didn’t find one, so went with what I already knew (Program Files, Local files, Roaming, temp folders, etc.) After all that I still get the same error when adding the Environment Light, but the HDRI now appears in the Scene and Render views so I will just keep moving forward and won’t worry about it unless it starts to affect something. Cheers. Leave a Reply Cancel replyWrite your comment here... *Name * Email * Website Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
