  1. My simulation doesn’t playback in my viewport when I’m in the VOP or DOP contexts. It only plays when I’m in the SOP context, which is very annoying since I have to go back and forth between contexts to see the results of my modifications in the VOP context.

Any hints on why this happens ? My display flag is on the rbd bullet solver in the SOP context.

    • Hey Samuel, that’s a pretty common and pretty annoying issue that’s been there since forever. But there is a (somewhat hacky) fix: Pinning your viewport. On Sop Level, outside your solver, where your simulation plays properly, click on the little thumbtack icon on the top right of your 3d view. Now, even if you jump into other nodes, your viewport will act like your still on Sop Level and outside your solver and therefor play your sim properly.

  2. If our main sphere(s) is not center at the World origin, the 5 points that will be used to set the cyclones do not “normalize” correctly. The constant you set (to multiply the normalize) is the radius of the sphere (0.5) but this doesn’t work if the sphere is not at 0,0,0. Is there a way to tell the Attribute VOP to normalize from the center of the Collider rather the center of the world ?
Many thanks for these amazing tutorials !

    • Hey Yann, that’s a nice little vector math exercise you created for yourself here – here’s how I’d solve it: In the vop create a vector constant and set it’s coordinates equal to the center of your sphere. Take the “P” input and from it subtract the constant you created. Finally take the result of that subtraction and wire this into the normalize node you already have in that vop.
