Chris revisited his very first Tutorial here on Entagma! He will show you a much easier way of achieving this animation in Houdini 20.5. He uses some features of Houdini 20 in a very neat way to create a petal rig and shows you how to go from animation to vellum simulation in a very easy way. We hope you enjoy this one!
Hi there,
I posted this on the sidefx forum (Forums -> Houdini Indie and Apprentice -> Feather Resample Node – Houdini 20.5.613 OSX 15.5) and got no response and wondered if you might have an insight or if it’s just an OSX bug.
Apologies if this is a newbie question.
I am following along with the Entagma 20.5 Endless Blossom tutorial and stumbled in the first few steps.
The tutorial sets Barb Resampling to 12 (the range slider max is 9). When I go past 9, the RHS barbs start to shrink towards the shaft. This happens to me with the file supplied by Entagma as well.
I’ve attached to screen grabs to illustrate the issue. (not attached here)
TIA for any help.
Hey James, just looked at the forum thread: If it acts like this both on your setup and our scenefile it’s most likely a bug. The SideFX support is typically very quick, so I’d just file a bug report. In the meantime, to get you going, I just exported the finished mesh and rig of one petal, so you can just continue on with capturing, rig posing and so on. You can download it here:

Thanks man, bug reported and the petal geo is much appreciated.
